COTES has visited Enlit Europe, the largest European exhibition for power energy development
At Enlit Europe (previously, POWERGEN Europe), in Milan, over 500 companies and over 10,000 power energy specialists could communicate from November 30 to December 2, 2021. The Enlit exhibition is designed to be a reference for the sector, which clarifies the global energy transformations and defines the roles of all participants.
This year, the exhibition was visited by world-known companies such as Siemens, Enel, Amazon, ITALGAS, Microsoft, Schneider Electric, Ansaldo Energia, Babckock & Wilcox, Emerson, Valmet and other. Three large pavilions of Fierra Milano housed all exhibition displays as well as over two dozens sites where specialists in various areas continuously reported, and open panel discussions and experience sharing were held.
Polina Belyavskaya, specialist of COTES Innovative Development Department, noted:
“At the exhibition and plenary meetings, a trend for environmental friendliness of the power sector can be clearly seen. Enormous attention is paid to de-carbonization technologies under carbon footprint reduction programmes both due to conventional technologies and due to new complex solutions, e.g. such as addition of hydrogen to fuel gas of gas turbine plants.
A separate exhibition sector was allocated for a widely-known and actively developing Smart Grid technology. Good news is a clear trend to reduce emissions, where in addition to carbon footprint, much attention is paid to the reduction in nitrogen oxides (NOx) emission. Particularly many offers are within conventional catalytic selective method, although original areas for co-burning of different gas types and admixing of wastes including wood processing wastes to the existing technologies for burning hard fuels are also provided.
The exhibition is legitimately called international: we could both visit booths of the European companies and study the experience of our colleagues from Canada, India, America, and China”.
