COTES Engineering Takes Part in the Technical Refurbishment of the Nizhegorodskaya GRES of AO Volga
In September, COTES Engineering concluded a contract and commenced the work on the installation of a condensation turbine at Power Complex of Nizhegorodskaya GRES of AO Volga. The technical refurbishment of the Nizhegorodskaya GRES with the replacement of a de-commissioned turbine R-32-130 to a new set K-27-13 (turbine + generator) is a part of the first stage of the project for the priority strategic development of PPM Volga. According to the press service of AO Volga, the total cost of refurbishment exceeds 5 bln RUB and is intended at the expansion of the production of paper and cardboard package, increase in the production capacity for processing of raw materials and improving energy efficiency of the enterprise..
COTES Engineering has already started the surveys at the site, after which the subsequent design stage will begin. Complete detailed design and basic design documentation should be issued by the end of 2022. The turbine replacement project is aimed at ensuring increased power consumption of the plant due to expanding production capacities and installing new process trains for the production.
“The COTES design team has been operating in the design of power equipment for pulp and paper mills since 2017”, said Anna Zeidlits, Work Supervisor, “Its extensive experience in the TPP power energy equipment allows us looking at problems in a broader way and probably offer non-standard however efficient solutions”.
